Hello Friends,
Among the many Spirit-filled programs and gatherings already on the Trinity calendar this year, I am especially excited to share an update on Annual Conference June 5–7 at The Woodlands Methodist Church: we have our theme and key scripture chosen and ready to share with you!
Glory & Goodness: Reflecting God’s Character in the World frames our understanding of scriptural holiness, the mission set before us by the Convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church in Costa Rica last September.
Firmly rooted in 2 Peter 1:3–11, Glory & Goodness isn’t just a lofty theme conference theme. It’s a scriptural mandate; a heart posture; a way of life; an essential step in our journey from justification to sanctification — growing more and more into the image of Christ.
Scriptural holiness is practical and life changing. It’s about letting God’s love work in us, so it naturally flows out in how we treat others. It’s resisting temptation and humbly confessing sin. It’s forgiving someone who doesn’t even ask for it. It’s loving and serving our neighbors well. This kind of holiness isn’t something we muster up on our own—it’s the result of God transforming our hearts and helping us reflect His light in a world that desperately needs it.
And the best part? We don’t have to wait for Annual Conference to start living into this theme. Glory & Goodness are available to us, today!
Friends, I can’t think of a better way to help focus the Kingdom work of our Conference — both now and at our gathering in June. I hope you will mark this event on your calendar now. Our Annual Conference schedule, speakers and registration information will be shared in the coming weeks. But for now, begin praying for our gathering and asking God to reveal the ways in which you reflect His character in the world.
Peace,
Jason
