Hope Restored: Ferriday Fire Recovery

Trinity Communications
September 4, 2025

Please continue to pray for the people of Ferriday Methodist Church in Louisiana, who experienced the devastating loss of their church building in a fire on Thursday, August 14.

Although their building is gone, the Church is very much alive. The congregation has already resumed worship in the old Presbyterian church in the nearby town of Vidalia and is making plans for the future. As they grieve and determine next steps, let's lift them up in prayer; asking God to meet them with comfort, provision, and fresh vision in this unexpected season.

And we ask a special measure of Spirit-led leadership for the new pastor of Ferriday Methodist Church, Derek Blackmon, who starts his new appointment on September 15. A recovery fund is now open through the Conference office for those wishing to make a monetary donation.

(Choose "Ferriday Methodist Church Recovery Fund" in the drop-down menu on the donation form.)
