Greetings, Trinity Family,
The joy of the Lord is with us!
Words on a digital screen really can’t convey the Beauty of Holiness we are experiencing together as Global Methodists here at General Conference in Johannesburg.
To feel the presence of the Holy Spirit during our worship and holy conferencing… with sisters and brothers from six continents, representing 51 Annual Conferences, speaking 10 different languages. It's like nothing I’ve experienced in my 21 years in ministry.
As much as I wish every one of you could experience this remarkable global gathering, I am reminded that the presence of God is not confined to a convention center in Johannesburg!
The same Holy Spirit who is moving so powerfully among us here in South Africa is already at work in our Trinity Conference churches, our families, and our local communities. When we seek Him with sincere hearts, we can encounter that same power and presence together, no matter the location.
This is why I am so excited to announce that Revival on the Road is returning with a new series of gatherings throughout the Trinity Conference.
Beginning in early 2027, we will once again gather at churches throughout the Conference for evenings of passionate worship, powerful preaching, and expectant prayer. These will be opportunities to step away from the demands of daily life, seek the Lord together, and ask Him to renew our hearts and strengthen us for the work ahead.
And there is even more to anticipate.
As you may have heard, the Rev. Dr. Luther Oconer has been elected to serve as a bishop of the church and to serve our Episcopal Area. I have invited him to join us for what I’m calling Vision Gatherings prior to select Revivals, giving laity and clergy leaders additional opportunities to spend time hearing from our new bishop and engage with him in Q&A dialogue.
What a gift it will be to welcome our new bishop into the life of the Trinity Conference, worship alongside him, and to hear the vision for the ministry God has entrusted to us.
