The Assistant Director of 1st Kids Ministry and GEMS serves as a member of the staff of First Methodist Church of Shreveport, assisting both the Director of Nursery, Preschool, and Special Needs Ministries and the Director of Elementary and Step Up Ministries (“Children’s Ministries Directors”). This position will focus on the engagement, discipleship, and spiritual growth and development of the children of FMCS, as well as the serving of individuals with special needs of FMCS and the surrounding community. Any potential candidate must possess and maintain a desire and passion for working with children and individuals with special needs, focusing on spiritual growth and development, and creating safe and hospitable places and events in which children and families can participate and to which they can belong.
