Hurricane Helene brought damage and devastation to much of the southeastern United States in September. After making landfall in Florida, its impacts could be felt across a dozen states.
At least 190 deaths have been attributed to the storm so far – along with billions in property damage and millions still without power.
Donate to Trinity Conference fundraising efforts
Trinity Conference is actively seeking financial support to fund disaster relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
Prayerfully consider donating to our Conference’s disaster relief fund. 100% of your donations will go to fund relief and restoration efforts in areas affected by the storm. On the donation page, click the blue “Give Now” button, then select “Disaster Relief Fund” from the dropdown menu on the donation form.
GMC ministries are already making an impact
Many GMC-sponsored and affiliated groups are already making an impact in areas ravaged by the hurricane. Faith Responders, a ministry partner based out of Tallahassee, Florida, has already begun collecting supplies and preparing to send teams to begin cleanup efforts.
“They are very well-organized. They came to our assistance during the Slidell tornados,” Terry Lindsey, Disaster Relief Coordinator for the Trinity Conference, said of Faith Responders.
“Jeremy Rebman headed that team up. I have known him for years from previous affiliations,” Lindsey said. Reverend Jeremy Rebman is the lead pastor at First Methodist Church Vero Beach (Vero Beach, Florida).
Lindsey also praised work being done by the Resurrection Methodist Church in Houma, Louisiana. “The team at [Resurrection] plans to respond with supplies and assistance, but they need funds. I will be with them; we plan to deploy next week."
Supporting Faith Responders
Faith Responders is requesting key donation items as they prepare to go onsite for disaster relief efforts. Click here to give financially, and consider sending these needed items as well:
In addition to Faith Responders, Terry Lindsey mentioned Robin Hudson of Baton Rouge, who serves in disaster relief situations like this one, with his ministry called Black Pot Blessings. It’s a cooking ministry in which Robin travels and cooks meals for first responders and others directly impacted by the storms. He is headed to serve in Asheville, North Carolina.
